Clinical Education at the University

The University of Utah, Department of Radiology sponsored a program in Radiologic Technology for over 20 years and graduated many fine radiographers who still work in the salt lake valley. In 1991, the certificate program closed and was reopened at Salt Lake Community College as an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.  The students benefited with financial aid and college credits for their education. The philosophy and quality of the program remained consistent with a strong emphasis in clinical education.  The program at SLCC has been very successful and most recently has a new location in West Jordan with state of the art lab facilities.

Today, the University continues to have a strong commitment to Radiologic Technology. The department of radiology functions as a major clinical education center for SLCC educating many students in diagnostic imaging. Accepted SLCC students can request to have a portion of their clinical education completed at the University.

Medical Director

The University continues to provide direction for the SLCC program with the involvement of Dr. “Steve” Stevens acting as the Medical Director for the program.
